On 01, Dec 2012 | No Comments | In News | By redoperator
At only $1450 the new release from RED is clear to take the market by storm. On pre order from today even consumers can afford 4K playback if you can afford the $24,000 for the TV in the first place. I’m sure 4K TV prices will drop in the very near future and finally we will be able to watch back all the footage we have acquired over the years in its full glory!

Apple hadn’t announced anything about the topic of the event, but the email invitation it sent to reporters contains a shadow in the shape of a “5”—a nod to the iPhone 5. Unlike 3D, 4K TV is one gimmick you’ll actually care about

Ever since moving to 1080p HD displays, the TV industry has been struggling to find its next great sales pitch. Picture quality hasn’t improved dramatically, OLED TVs remain mostly a mirage, and the repeated attempts to make consumers care about obvious gimmicks like 3D have fallen flat. In the absence of a real advantage to distinguish the latest TV model from the trusty high-def screen you might have bought a few years back, companies have had to enter a debilitating price war. But now there’s hope.

Adobe CS6 Revamps Premiere Pro & Native R3D Support
On 21, Jun 2012 | No Comments | In News | By redoperator
Adobe has more than usual riding on CS6, the latest version of its Creative Suite package for production and post. CS5.5 launched at NAB last year just as Final Cut Pro X was landing with a thud among users who didn’t care for the radically rethought interface and slimmed-down feature set.
Adobe’s Premiere Pro NLE already had some momentum, thanks to broad native format support on the timeline and a substantial performance boost through NVIDIA GPU acceleration, and the company enjoyed a surge of interest from editors who were suddenly examining their options in the marketplace.

You may have spotted recently the new developments in Photoshop CS6 due to release on May 7th. Adobe have included the feature to grade and create basic edits directly from within a PSD.
Coupled with the new SpeedGrade software it looks like now we have some really useful tools from Adobe for grading and composition outside of Color, Looks and After Effects. Watch the video here.
I wonder wether it will allow R3D editing natively within Photoshop? I guess I will find out next week…
